Do you need a pre-tested psychrometric function for your control or hygrometric sensor line?
McCrea Automation can immediately provide source code written in C or Java. Based on commonly sensed inputs, the function returns psychrometric values for air. Choose a formal calculation method or a considerably shorter and faster approximation technique. Operate in either I-P or SI engineering units or both.
Sensed inputs are dry bulb temperature plus either relative humidity, dew point, or wet bulb. Selectable outputs are enthalpy, humidity ratio, relative humidity, dew point, or wet bulb. You may conditionally compile the C function to handle any or all of the input and output variables with the choices specified at run-time. The fixed configuration of the Java version handles all options at run time.
The formal calculation technique follows the ASHRAE algorithms using the Hyland-Wexler and Peppers equations. The approximation is designed to limit the function's error to an order of magnitude less than the accuracies normally specified for HVAC work. The approximation covers a conventional psychrometric chart range, but you can save more space by compiling for a smaller, yet still practical, range for HVAC.
